She has served in various study abroad roles throughout her time in the field and has held volunteer leadership position with NAFSA and various other study abroad organizations. She has enjoyed seeing more and more Webster students take advantage of study abroad opportunities. Since her college days, traveling and international experiences have played an important role in Kelly’s personal development, education, and career. She studied abroad two times as an undergraduate- completing a May term program focused on women in Mexican politics in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and then a full academic year in Salamanca, Spain studying Spanish language and culture. Upon graduating, Kelly returned to Spain and taught English as a second language for two years in Seville. Kelly received her master’s degree in higher education with a concentration in student affairs administration from Loyola’s School of Education. In graduate school, she had the opportunity to study educational leadership in Rome, Italy at the John Felice Rome Center. Kelly continues to enjoy learning about new parts of the world and cultures on a daily basis. She finds that helping students follow their study abroad passions is one of the most fulfilling aspects of her job. She realizes the influence that international experiences and cross-cultural exchange can have on a person’s academic and personal development.
