Webster World Traveler Program

Did you know that you could receive a FREE round-trip plane ticket when you study at one of our international campuses or international partner institutions?

You can!  Webster University encourages you to take advantage of our special program when applying to study abroad at one of our unique international campuses. The Webster World Traveler Program (WWTP) helps to provide students with the opportunity to become well-educated world travelers.

In order to be eligible for the WWTP, students must submit all application materials by the Study Abroad deadlines. This award is not guaranteed and applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and conditions to receive the award.

Application Process & Deadlines

Students must submit a completed application to Office of Study Abroad by the deadlines listed below. Once submitted, applications are reviewed and applicants are notified via email of their application status. Please note: Incomplete applications will not be processed or reviewed until all materials have been submitted.

Minimum Criteria for Acceptance

In order to apply for a Webster University Study Abroad program, applicants must meet the following criteria at the time of participation in the program:

Undergraduate Students

  • Earned 15 Semester Credit Hours (15 credit hours must be earned at Webster University)
  • Good academic standing (2.5 GPA)
  • Good social standing
  • Good financial standing

Graduate Students

  • Earned 9 semester credit hours (9 graduate credit hours must be earned at Webster University)
  • Good academic standing (3.0 GPA)
  • Good social standing
  • Good financial standing
Students who do not meet the minimum eligibility requirements at the time of application should submit an additional statement telling when the requirements will be met (must be before program start).

Award Terms and Conditions

This award is not applicable to students wishing to apply for a permanent site-transfer. If you decide to site-transfer while abroad, you will be responsible for reimbursing Webster the cost of the airline ticket. The travel dates are arranged by Webster University based on arrival/departure dates issued by receiving campuses. Students are eligible to receive this award only one time. This award is not eligible for students receiving tuition remission or tuition exchange.

Students must meet the following criteria throughout their study abroad experience to maintain eligibility of the award:

  • Successfully complete a minimum of one eight-week term and at least six credit hours abroad as a full-time equivalent student.

  • Remain enrolled as a full-time student in good standing while abroad.

  • Successfully fulfill the service obligation to be determined in consultation with the OSA and/or Student Services.

Noncompliance with the conditions of the award may result in revocation of the award. If a student withdraws early or does not successfully complete the term abroad with Webster University, the cost of the airline ticket will be posted to his/her account. If the student decides to change the ticket once it has been booked, the student is financially responsible for any change fee and re-booking. Students will be booked on flights with other study abroad students to ensure timely arrival and travel support from the local campus. Special travel requests may be considered, but are not guaranteed. The award will be reflected on the student's account as a Business Office charge and a Financial Aid credit, and could be considered taxable.
