Orientation
Pre-Departure Orientation is mandatory for all Webster St. Louis students and will last approximately three hours. This program introduces students to useful information on adjusting to a new culture and environment, as well as practical information on health, insurance, and safety matters abroad. Students will attend a general session for the two hours and then move to campus-specific sessions where students will have the chance to meet with study abroad alumni. The Office of Study Abroad will announce orientation dates and times well in advance. Students can bring up to two guests and parents are encouraged to attend. Here is the general time frame based on the term of study abroad:
All WINS affiliate and visiting students will receive the same pre-departure and orientation materials either by email or direct mail. Affiliate and visiting students local to the St. Louis metro area are also invited to attend orientation at Webster University. Students may still be required to attend orientation at their home institutions.
Students will go through on on-site orientation sponsored by the host campus/university once they get to their destination city. Information and details will be provided in the program acceptance packet.
