How to Apply

Below you will find some helpful information related to eligibility and how to apply to study abroad. Also, make sure you are familiar with the application deadlines

Please note that Webster University undergraduate students can study abroad for a maximum of five academic terms. A single term is equal to a summer or a half-semester. A full academic year abroad (summer, fall, and spring) equals five terms. Webster University graduate students can study abroad for a maximum of two terms, or one semester. Participation in short-term faculty-led programs does not count against the term limit. 

Eligibility 

Undergraduate 
  • Earned 15 Semester Credit Hours, (for Webster students, 15 credit hours must be earned at Webster University) 
  • Good academic standing, including a minimum GPA of 2.5. International partner programs in the United Kingdom have a 2.8 GPA requirement. Students with a GPA between 2.2 and 2.5 who have extenuating circumstances, or who can demonstrate a pattern of improvement, may be given consideration and should speak with a study abroad advisor if interested in applying. 
  • Good social standing 
  • Good financial standing 
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) students must be officially released from ESL with a TOEFL score of 550 (or equivalent) and have completed at least 15 credit hours of non-ESL coursework at their home campus after release. 
Graduate 
  • Earned 9 semester credit hours (for Webster students, 9 graduate credit hours must be earned at Webster University) 
  • Good academic standing (3.0 GPA) 
  • Good social standing 
  • Good financial standing 
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) students must be officially released from ESL with a TOEFL score of 550 (or equivalent) and have completed at least 9 credit hours of non-ESL coursework at their home campus after release. 

How to Apply 
  • It is recommended that you meet with your study abroad advisor and your academic advisor.  
  • Select a program, click ‘Apply Now’, and login with your webster.edu email and password. 
  • As a part of the application, you will be asked to: 
    • Complete a general information questionnaire 
    • Write a statement of purpose (2-5 sentences about why you want to study abroad) 
    • Upload a copy of your {insert hyperlink to passport page} 
    • Select a professor to complete a recommendation form 
    • Sign that you have read documents related to policies and fees 
    • Pay $100 application deposit (if applicable) 
    • Submit an authorization form signed by financial aid (if applicable) 
  • Receive your admissions decision within 1 week of the application deadline.
