University and Program
Webster's “Semester in China” at Beijing Language and Culture  University (BLCU) is aimed at undergraduate students with an interest in Asian or China cultures and is specifically designed to accommodate students at all levels of proficiency in Mandarin, including beginners.

Founded in 1962, BLCU has the longest history, the largest scope, and the most qualified teaching faculties of its kind (teaching the Chinese language and culture to foreigners) in the area. Over the past 40 years since its establishment, the university has trained hundreds of thousands of foreign students who are proficient in Chinese and familiar with the Chinese culture, from over 160 countries and regions in the world.

The campus offers classrooms, academic and staff offices, various cafes, a fitness center, a student recreational area, and a library.  A variety of restaurants can meet the needs of different students, serving Chinese, Western-style, Islamic (or Muslim) food and fast-food, in addition to a quality restaurant in the conference center.  The library includes access to Webster’s extensive online Library, with digital collections of academic journals in all subject areas, over 25,000 e-books, e-reference collections, educational streaming video sites, and training materials among other resources.
